Right now,
I’m a fantasy writer. I have one book published, one currently being edited and
one is currently being written, all of them are fantasy novels. I will probably
continue to write as many fantasy novels as I can, but there are times when I
get ideas for other genres and most of them are science fiction.
I realize
that science fiction isn’t to far flung from fantasy, heck, they are usually
stuck together in the same section in bookstores. So I guess that makes science
fiction a good second genre for me to specialize in. I already have a couple of
ideas in mind though I don’t dare voice them here since I’ve barely started on
either of them and one of them only came to me this past Monday, they need a
lot of work first.
Horror and
children fiction have also been genres I have been considering, I have always
been intrigued by horror stories… just not watching them since I hate jump scares
and I’m all for trying to instill positive morals for the younger generations
(okay, I feel old now). There’re still things I would need to sort out before
even attempting to write them. For horror, I really want to be able to scare
the reader properly, so I would like to research on what makes a good horror
story. As for children fiction, I would like to personally illustrate the books
and I think I need to improve my art before I can do that.
